My good friend Phil alerted me to this fantastic swordfish tattoo by artist Matt Adamson. It’s difficult to understand the placement of the tattoo from the photos below but it looks to me like the tops of the shoulders, as if the swordfish has gone through the neck. Matt is now stationed at Jayne Doe tattoo studio in Essex, and if you’re nearby and looking for tattoos I would definitely recommend you check him out. You can see more of Matt’s amazing work and follow him on Instagram. Another great shot after the break with elements of the original drawing.

This exotic fish may be native to southeast asia, but would you believe there’s one place in the United States where you can catch one right along side a largemouth bass. While they’re most commonly found here in aquariums many misinformed owners don’t realize they can grow up to 40″ and weigh over 10 pounds. Sources believe that when the fish got too big or too expensive to feed they were illegally released into the local water system. Can you name that fish? If so we’ve got a three pack of WE FISHIN’ MANE stickers for you!

Last weekend marked the opening of trout season here in Ontario and though I was only able to get out yesterday, my friends and I still managed to have a fantastic day on the river. We woke up early and took a short drive out to Oshawa where we would explore the upper parts of the river. Tiny beads and stoneflies were the most effective lures in the gin clear water.
Fishing Camp is a fishing trivia board game from Education Outdoors aimed to please the whole family. Supporting up to eight players as young as four years old, the game separates trivia questions into four levels. Level one questions are simple, like identifying fish species or fishing tackle. The difficulty increases up to level four where many questions will test even the most seasoned anglers. Some trivia cards feature winnable items like fish species that you “catch” by getting the question right, or a GPS unit that allows you to take a shortcut. The first person back to the dock with their catch wins! We’ve played several rounds here at Fishing Fury HQ and the level four questions have stumped even us on a few occasions. We think it’s fun, and you could probably play a game with just the trivia cards if you were on a road trip. But [...]

My XTRATUF II boots have been the footwear of choice for winter fishing this year and they’ve been fantastic on every outing. I’m sad that they’ll be put away in the next few weeks as summer approaches, but I’m very happy knowing they’re ready and waiting for next winter. When talking to the folks at XTRATUF I found out they were about to release a new collection of fishing shoes paired with their XTRATUF sole. I asked, though I would have begged, for the chance to review their new shoes and they graciously supplied me with the pair you see below. At first glance the Chumrunners might seem boring, but I think the simplicity of their design is what I like the most. They exist somewhere between deck shoes and skate shoes with a feel that is casual and comfortable. The light and flexible soles are non-marking and feature the [...]

Earth Day 2013 is here! When is Earth Day? Earth Day is honored around the world on April 22, although larger events such as festivals and rallies are often organized for the weekends before or after April 22. Many communities also observe Earth Week or Earth Month, organizing a series of environmental activities throughout the month of April. Why do we need an Earth Day? Because it works! Earth Day broadens the base of support for environmental programs, rekindles public commitment and builds community activism around the world through a broad range of events and activities. Earth Day is the largest civic event in the world, celebrated simultaneously around the globe by people of all backgrounds, faiths and nationalities. More than a billion people participate in our campaigns every year.
