[...] Because I really enjoy Adam’s great articles from Japan I’ve asked if he can write us more often with some of the great meals that he creates from his personal fishing trips. Adam’s most recent article Fugu is a great voyage into the myths and reality of catching and eating fresh Fugu. Today Adam is dining on freshly caught Cuttlefish, which despite their name, are not fish but related to squid and other Cephalopods. [...]

[...] Fugu is that highly poisonous fish that is served in Japan as sashimi and sushi. I am very tempted to give it a go on my trip to Tokyo. It’s VERY rare that people actually get poisoned because Fugu chefs are certified. Most folks who die prepare it themselves without the proper knowledge. You can even fish for it yourself and have a Fugu chef on your fishing boat clean it for you and then go home and chow down. You can read about at my new favorite fishing blog Fishing Fury where Adam Guy catches Fugu, has it cleaned, takes it home, cleans it some more, then eats it. Adam also wrote a cool little feature called An Introduction to Fishing in Japan, check it out. [...]
