Trout Fishing in Cobourg – Part 2

Last weekend a few friends and I spent the weekend in Cobourg so that we could dedicate some serious time hunting the surrounding rivers and streams in search of trout. Our usual spot was void of trout, but we ventured further upstream and found several other pools. You can read the full report on our forums and view all the photos in our gallery.

Trout Fishing In Cobourg

On November 5th, 2011 I headed out to Cobourg to fish with KokeMachine of 4 EEL Fishing and some friends. We got there before first light and had the trout turned on the moment the sun started to break the horizon. The trip was a complete success with everyone landing a fish, unfortunately not all were photographed.

Bay View Resort on Lower Buckhorn

Bay View Resort is a fantastic getaway in the Kawartha Lakes region of Ontario, less than two hours from Toronto, and on the western shore of Lower Buckhorn’s Dear Bay. My friends and I spent the weekend here in a three bedroom cottage, we even rented a boat and spent a day fishing. Everything was well maintained and we had a fabulous time, the owner was extremely friendly and helpful, even my dog loved it. I would definitely go back to Bay View Resort.

Algonquin National Park Late July 2011

Yet another trip to Algonquin, but this time my friends and I check out some of the further south lakes and hope to find less crowded lakes and trails for the long weekend. We launched from Kingscote Lake, and spent nights on Branch Lake and Byers Lake where we also managed to catch some fish for dinner.

Algonquin National Park June 2011

In mid-June 2011 three friends and I head back to Algonquin park for the second or third time that year for another four day portage. This time we would tour the lower lakes where I caught my first lake trout ever, and even managed to catch another three making the perfect dinner. All photos in this set were taken with a Nikon D5000.
