Hooked up with Dave and Kokemachine in Cobourg. We went in search of chrome (steelhead) but all we found was brass (brass). The river was full of suckers! The pools we fished would have one maybe two steelhead and like 30-40 suckers. I must have caught 10 suckers that day! I was using Trigger-X artificial salmon eggs so I didn’t mind catching the suckers so much since they weren’t destroying a roe bag, not to mention I caught them all on the same artificial bait! Kokemachine did manage to catch a steelhead and even Dave landed a very sick looking one before we left. The only saving grace for me was that I managed to catch my first fish ever on a fly rod, it was a sucker but I didn’t care!
