These were freshwater bronze hooks with the Flukes, but I switch up the hooks on most of my lures to saltwater hooks when I'm fishing salt water.

You will want to rinse off all of your gear with freshwater to prevent any damage from the salt! My equipment was in ok shape for the most part, though my reel was later difficult to take a part due to rust. (see article about reel here: http://www.fishingfury.com/20110802/rest-in-pieces-quantum-cabo-pts/)

Personally, while and silver are always my go to colours fishing in the Caribbean, but trying some different rigs with dark colours may be a good idea!

Let us know how you do!

I'm curious. What hooks did you use? I'm assuming freshwater hooks (bronze worm hooks) because you're a bass fisherman? Anyway, did you regularly wash down your tackle and reel to prevent salt corrosion? How bad was your tackle after?

Also, do you think you would have been more successful with any other plastics? Like black or dark brown worms/grubs and shirts rigged for Texas or Carolina style?

I'm going to Varadero in 2 months and I'll experiment further.

Thanks

Sounds like a great time Clive, & I'm glad you were able to get some fish.
Kinda surprised there wasn't any Bass in the golf course either. I guess it wasn't built by an American....lol!
