Ed Stafford is the First Person Ever to Walk the Amazon

Ed Stafford has done what no other person in the world has ever done, or perhaps even tried. I must admit I didn’t even know that he was attempting to walk the amazon. Never-the-less, Ed has done it! After almost 900 day, travelling over thousands of kilometers, and “50,000 mosquito bites” Ed reached the Atlantic Ocean in northern Brazil.

“It’s unbelievable to be here!” Stafford told The Associated Press the moment he entered the sea. “It proves you can do anything — even if people say you cannot. I’ve proved that if you want something enough, you can do anything!”

A few hours earlier, Stafford had collapsed at the side of the road, just short of his destination. But upon arrival at the Crispim beach — and his journey’s end — Stafford looked like he had all the energy in the world, as if walking for 2½ years were nothing as he jumped into the ocean and hugged anyone in sight.

Amazonian Pacu caught in Ohio

Wow folks, just joined this site recently and already have an epic fishing story to tell… Man, Fishing Fury musta given me some good luck, maybe in the fine print it says “if you join the forum you may experience a substantial increase in bigger and more interesting catches!”… lol

So this past Monday evening, 8/31/09… I decide to go fishing at my parents house who reside on the Sandusky River near Fremont, Ohio. I’ve been in a recent fishing slump so I decide to use dough balls for carp – you know just want to fight a bigger fish regardless of species… was in dire need to hear my drag, been way too long. Who would have ever guessed I wouldn end up bring in a PACU?! I’m still in shock, excited, speechless yet can’t quit talking about it…. hard to describe what it’s like to catch something like this – so off the wall and unexpected.
