I just got my new pleasure craft license in the mail and it came with a few coupons for 10 bucks off. Get it while it’s hot! These boater exam discounts are for family & friends, and well, that’s what you are! Both english and french codes are available, if you use one please comment below.

The Toronto Sportsmen’s Show is now officially over. Everyone is packing up and getting ready to head back home, it’s a shame an event like this can’t go on forever. But let’s be honest, my wallet couldn’t handle it!

I met so many wonderful people at this show, and I’m proud that I was able to spend so much time chatting with them about their lodges, products, and even share some great fishing stories with people from all over North America. As with things of a limited nature like this there are also many things that I simply forgot to do, or simply didn’t have the time. I’ll cover some of the missing bits in a later post, but for now I’m going to sit back and find some dinner.
I also ran into Ed on Saturday and Sunday. He took the photo above and today we both passed the boater exam. We are now officially licensed to pilot personal watercraft in Canada!

Ed’s also the reason why I didn’t get any posting done saturday night. I ended up going to his place downtown to have dinner that night and as it turns out he had a copy of Bass Pro Shop’s The Strike. This of course eventually lead to some epic intoxicated fights with huge lunker bass like the one below (19.9lbs Largemouth Bass). I’m definitely going to pick up a copy of this game the next time I’m at BPS, I had a great time playing it, and would love to review and own it.

Don’t go too far! We’ve still got a ton of great content from the show that we’re going to post!
Today was the first day of the Toronto Sportsmen’s Show, and it’s also the first time in years that it was not at the Canadian National Exhibition. Unfortunately, I ended up walking all the way there with photographer friend in tow, only to be greeted for some kind of flower show. We hopped on the streetcar back up the Queens Quay to nearly where we’d started and headed to Toronto’s Metro Hall.

Once there we obtained our admission stamps since the passes were unavailable at the time. It was almost 7PM at this point and the convention closes at 8PM, but we managed to get in and explore the first section pretty well. Unlike the previous years CNE, Metro Hall has broken up the convention into multiple rooms/buildings. If you’re going to the convention get a map immediately! Without it you might get lost or frustrated, and this convention is all about fun, so get a map!

While we were there we covered may of the booths and products we’ve discussed recently such as Koppers Lures, Quantum, Storm, Abu Garcia, and if I had more time I could have completed my boater exam! It was probably a very fine example of the phrase, “a kid in a candy store.” I’ll post more stories and photos tomorrow, as well as tweeting the event tomorrow after work.
Sorry for the low resolution photos, these were taken with my iPhone. I’ll have some real photos tomorrow!
