Fish-Hop Vol. 1: The Cool Kids – Gone Fishing

Look out guys there’s a new contributor on the block. Biz Davis is a good friend of mine who love music just as much as we love fishing. When he first started telling me about different fishing themed albums I told him that he should write a reoccurring column on my site all about it.. And he did!

As we roll out into summer I though it’d be a nice switch up here at FFHQ to drop some fly shit on y’all, and I’m not talkin’ lures. A whole weeks worth of Fish-Hop, dope albums with a nautical theme, for your listening pleasure.

Starting things off with the obvious: The Cool Kids, who hail from Chicago, and their latest mix-tape “Gone Fishin”.

A mixture of golden-era style rhymes (Think Eric B, Rakim, LL Cool J, Common Sense) and some serious 808′s and handclap production, this Don Cannon hosted tape gives us some nice tunes to hold over until their debut….”When Fish Ride Bicycles”. Chicago Hip-Hop and Fishing?!! A match made in Fishing Fury heaven!

If you’re a fan of sarcastic, indie hip-hop with a throwback vibe, then this is a perfect soundtrack to a lazy friday when you should be workin. :)
