This week I will be (trying my best to) add at least one article or fishing log a day as I go through all of our features from the old site and adding them to the current site. Today’s addition is the first article ever written for Fishing Fury, back in 2004, about the very simple and effective shore fishing tactics Clive and I used on Toronto Island.

Every fisherman has been shore bound at one time. After all it is the oldest and most common method. You don’t have a boat, the body of water you’re fishing doesn’t support them, or it’s just not feasible to get your boat in or to the water. Many people think that you cant land big fish from shore, let alone a lot of them. But by using these tactics you will find the best structure and locations quickly getting you one step closer to hooking the big one.
The tactics discussed here are most important when fishing new water and there is only one rule: “cover everything”. You must be very thorough and meticulous in your approach the first few days. Think of it as a reconnaissance mission, you may not be catching fish your first day, but you’re gathering information that will lead to lots of fish later.

It’s been a very quiet past few days and I appologize. I had to move to a new rental house here in La Paz, so I spent about two days moving things and taking breaks to do various work related things. The internet at my previous house was down due to some line problems that couldn’t be sorted out with the provider. Now that I have the internet at home again and I finished moving the posts should pick back up again.
My good friends at Fishermen’s Fleet have put together a great promotional video of fishing here in La Paz, Mexico. The video will give you an idea of what a typical day with his charter service provides and what kind of species you can expect to catch. I’ve used David’s charter service for almost a year now, and have nothing but great things to say. Some of the video Clive and I have taken here in Mexico was donated to David even ended up in the video.

The next featured content will be a fishing log, from October 5th. I took two, non-fishermen, friends of mine out for the day with Fishermen’s Fleet and our trip was the most amazing fishing trip I’ve been on all year. You can expect that update tomorrow, with a few pictures from my fishing trip I took today. Until, then you can check out this awesome picture of yellow fin tuna taken by Mike on the trip being featured.
