A little known fact about frogs, they love to eat goldfish. This little frog appears to have bitten off more then he could chew though!

Wow. It was a very intense weekend at Springwood Cottages for the opening of bass season. It was a very hot and sunny weekend overall, except for some light rain on Sunday afternoon, I think I even gave myself a good case of heat stroke. Nevertheless we fished Saturday to Sunday from almost dawn to dusk and didn’t get home until about 1-2am Monday morning. So while the heat stroke didn’t kill me you can imagine how I felt on my way to work a few hours later.

When I return from my brief coma I will have a full update about my weekend at Springwood Cottages and Kennebec Lake, but just to tease you a bit I will leave you with a few of my favorite scenery shots and a big frog that took a yellow slug-go.

Frog With Claws

The “horror frog” is the only frog known to have claws. What is more interesting though, is how the claws are formed, the frogs break their own bones to produce claws that puncture their way though the frogs skin. As if these frogs weren’t scary enough, they male grows threads of vascularised skin, producing a fur like appearance. This frog could probably fight off a pike attack!
