As some of you know, I was born in the British Virgin Islands. I haven’t lived there since I was a little boy, but I did enjoy a prolonged stay there in 2006. I still feel homesick whenever I think of the islands and maybe one day, my family and I can move back. For now, I resort to watching old videos we made while we were there a few years back. Lots of warm weather and lots of excellent fishing, it doesn’t get much better then that.

PS. If anyone needs an island fishing guide and has the cash to cover my expenses to get there, I’m all yours!

I was just checking the website of our good friend David Jones and my attention was immediately caught by the following post!

WORLD RECORD SNAPPER APPROVED

Think back to June, and remember that one Roula Cornell captured a monstrous mullet snapper. You will of course also remember that it weighed in (on official certified scales) at 45.6 pounds, apparently eclipsing the current record of 36 pounds by a metric shit load. Well, as of September 6, 2007, our sources at the IGFA in Florida tell us that his record has been approved. Cornell, who has been saddled with the term “pending” ever sense has been released from this nether world and is now official, unique, and certifiable in his position atop all of the mullet snapper fishermen in the world. Although his life has been a world wind of paparazzi, nubile pursuers, and sycophantic followers since that fateful day, he has maintained his humble “everyman” approach to life and fishing. Here’s hoping that his hat size remains static, and that his world record stands for a long, long time. Congrats R.C.,

David

That’s just another notch on the belt for the best guide services in all of Baja California Sur!

You should also check out some of the older posts from our time living in Mexico and our fishing trips with Fishermen’s Fleet.

Klamath River – October 2nd, 2006

RECORDED: 75 ° FISHING: Excellent

On Monday, I fished my buddies Jim, Keith, and Matt and they landed 6 out of 12 Salmon. Five of the six Salmon weighed over 18 pounds, and 3 of those were over 20 pounds. Jim landed the hog of the day a nice big 25 pound buck. See the photo gallery for the pics. K-15 kwikfish and Roe were the baits of choice. I am fishing the section of river from the Hatchery to Fishhook it has been the most productive.

Connie Inman is definitely a hero of fishing here at Fishing Fury. In true fury style, Connie has been traveling nearly 3,000 miles, 3 times a year, to the remote Canadian wilderness in search of nothing more than his greatest passion, trophy Pike fishing. When Clive and I first met Connie it was through the Ontario Fishing Network, where those who know him, consider him to be a king of Pike. Connie’s kingdom of Pike is the small 14 mile Little Vermilion Lake, just north of Red Lake, Ontario, and can only be reached by a small bush plane. It wasn’t long before the pictures of Connie’s monstrous Pike and his great personality led Clive and I to book our trip to Little Vermilion through Sportsman’s Lodge, the same service Connie uses.

The trip was a total success and it was all thanks to Connie, he bestowed a great deal of his knowledge on us in a crash course guide around the lake our first day.

If you’d like to book a fly-in fishing trip to Little Vermilion Lake for trophy Pike, contact Brett Geary and his family at www.trophypikecanada.com.

Read the article on Connie Inman by the Tennessean.

And of course this wouldn’t be a complete entry without a least one monster pike from Little Vermilion Lake.
