Mark Ruddick! Congratulations, please send us an email (staff@fishingfury.com) with your mailing address and we’ll put your prize in the mail this week. This was probably the easiest contest we’ve had in a long time, all because nobody dared go up against a scout leader.

I need to win the KIWI Camp Dry Adventure Pack because not only am I an avid fisherman, but I am a cub and scout leader. If you ever camped with cubs or scouts you will know that 2 things are true. It always rains and kids always find the water. From packs, to tents, to sleeping bags my guys always get things wet. This would be a great way to try this product out, without spending the kid’s money.
Plus I’ve always wanted a pair of dry underwear while wet wading in the Thames.

Well Mark, we’re happy to send you and your troop these fantastic products from Kiwi Care. Please put them to the test and let us know what you think!

Upset that you didn’t win? Well you’ll never win if you don’t try! We’ve got more contests this week so keep your eyes and ears on our blog and Twitter feed for updates!

Didn’t win any free fishing gear this holiday season? Well you’ve still got until January 1st to win something in our final two contests of the year! I’m pretty sure we doubled our yearly giveaways in December alone!

How about a complete set of premium fishing weights from Water Gremlin! All you have to do is register for our forums and post a member introduction before 2012!

Maybe forums aren’t you’re thing but you love those ‘guess how many’ contests. Well check out our final Christmas contest where you could win some sweet lures by guessing how many fishing lures Clive used to decorated his Christmas tree.

And just in case that wasn’t enough I’m already planning the first contest of 2012 where you could win a prize pack of Kiwi Camp Dry products like the Performance Fabric Protector that I reviewed earlier this year.

Earlier this year, when it was still snowing outside I received two of the newest products from Kiwi Camp Dry, both the Performance Fabric Protector and the Heavy Duty Water Repellent. These two products are designed not only to protect your clothes, boots, tents, and sleeping bags, from water and dirt by “defying the elements”, but can also to extend the lifetime of your gear for relatively little cost.

The Performance Fabric protector is designed to repel water, dirt and stains. The spray is quick to dry, contains no silicone, and will protect your garments without discolouration and without sacrificing breathability. The fabric protector can be used on any synthetic fabrics including nylon and even Gore-Tex®. Use it to protect your outdoor furniture, boat covers, fleece hats, gloves, and even your kids clothing can benefit from an added layer of stain protection.

To test this product I chose to use it on my Misty Mountain soft shell jacket that is made of polyester and designed to be water resistant and breathable. I know from my experience in Algonquin Park that in a light rain the water can be repelled for about an hour before the rain will start to be absorb through to the inner layer that touches your skin, but in heavy rain it might only be minutes. I also know that if you come home clean from a camping trip you weren’t having enough fun out there and I had my fair share of stains and mud to wash out of my jacket.
