Two Short HD Videos From Dave Mercer’s Seminar @ BPS

I took a few short videos of Dave Mercer’s seminar at Bass Pro Shops yesterday, and I would have taken more if I had a tripod, but I wonder if that would have been a little too much. Anyway here are two great clips from the seminar. Both videos are available in high definition 1080 thanks to my Canon 7D.

Dave Mercer’s Seminar and Book Signing was Fantastic!

If you didn’t have the opportunity to check out Dave Mercer’s seminar and book signing at Bass Pro Shops you missed a wonderful thing. Dave talked for about an hour about fishing, his book, and Koppers Live Target lures- and I think what I liked most about it (and his book) is that everything is broken down into simple bite size ideas that you easily digest and retain. It’s like the tapas of fishing tips, really.

Luckily I was able to move my appointments around on saturday so that I could make this event and meet Dave. The seminar was great and getting to meet Dave after was an amazing treat. Readers of this blog probably already know where huge fans of Dave Mercer (and Kopper Lures), but as it turns out Dave is also a really big fan of ours!

I asked Dave if he would sign a second book for me so that I could give it away in our 2010 Contributor Contest (you’ve only got 12 days left!!) and he was more than happy to! Dave also signed a personalized copy for myself and when I opened the book again at the checkout line I was surprised and elated.

Oh, before I forget… Happy Birthday Dave!

Hot New LIVETARGET Lures for 2011

If you missed out on the fantastic LIVETARGET lures made by Koppers this year, then you’ll definitely need to add a few of these to your collection for next year. LIVETARGET lures are the most realistic looking lures on the market, and they’re made right here in Ontario! Koppers has some pretty amazing additions to their lineup for 2011, including several that I will be picking up the first chance I get!

Koppers Lures will be at Bass Pro Shops in Vaughn this Saturday, which is also Dave Mercer’s seminar and book signing, where they will be giving out a LIVETARGET prize pack valued at over $700! If you’re free on Saturday and in the area make sure you check it out!

Koppers LIVETARGET Smelt: First Impressions

I don’t think that anyone will argue that Koppers LIVETARGET lures are some of the most realistic lures on the market. Lets face it, not all lures are created equal. If you placed this lure beside any of its competition, I’d be willing to bet most fishermen would choose the LIVETARGET lure simply because it just looks better. So the big question is, do these lures just catch fishermen, or do they catch fish too?

Toronto Sportsmen’s Show: Koppers Lures Detail Shots

I wanted to post a couple more shots of the Koppers Live Target lures on display at the Toronto Sportsmen’s Show. This company definitely has an eye for details, kudos to the Koppers guys for setting and lighting this display very well. Tomorrow I hope to meet and chat with Grant Kopper the owner and designer of these lures.

These photos were all taken by Brandon Seibel, one of my friends and co-workers, on his Canon 50D.

Toronto Sportsmen’s Show: Swimbait Spoils

Today at the Toronto Sportsmen’s Show I did some shopping and registered for a new fishing license. I found some pretty great deals all around, for example right now you can pick up a Quantum Cabo PT baitcaster for only 150 bucks! Unfortunately for me they’re all right handed. I highly recommend that you check out the show this weekend before all the best tax-free deals are gone. I did however spend some time culling the shops for the best swimbait deals. In the photo below you’ll find about 160 dollars or so worth of hot new swimbaits!
