Wii Fishing Resort Trailer

It looks like the Nintendo Wii has added yet another fishing game to it’s lineup. This one doesn’t look terribly fast paced, but it looks pretty good for a Wii game and the open world concept is a refreshing change!

The game was released last week in North America, but I haven’t seen it on shelves anywhere! If I can find a copy, I’ll pick it up for review.

BPS The Strike: Tournament Edition

Bass Pro Shops is getting ready to ship their newest game for the Nintendo Wii, The Strike: Tournament Edition, due out mid-October. The tournament edition offers the same great gameplay you’re already familiar with from the first game, but now with a new focus on a true-to life tournament structure.

Experience a true-to-life tournament structure that focuses on all the real elements of an actual fishing tournament. Now, The Strike allows players to pre-fish a lake to test out equipment; challenge fellow fisherman to fishing contests; troll around a lake to get a feel for the layout and plot hot spots with their GPS, and even receive lake specific tips from their very own fishing mentor. Finally, sit back and enjoy a HUD-less fish fight because players are no longer forced to focus on meters and bars to reel in a fish — simply allow the feedback from the Wii remote to indicate the line tension and stamina of the fish.

More screenshots after the break!

Rapala We Fish

If you play video games and love to fish, you’ve probably played one of Rapala’s previous entries in the the virtual fishing world. While their games look great, they haven’t been able to produce a game that is truly enjoyable. This year they’ve ditched their graphics and tried to push up the fun factor. I’m not convince the game will be any better then their previous attempts but I’ll be trying it out very soon and let you guys know. At least We Fish is going to be released exclusively for the Wii, so the game should be more polished then the previous version that were ported from other systems. Check out the trailer…

Fish Eyes Wii

Its been a while since I’ve played a really good fishing game. I’ve tried about on the Wii, but I haven’t been terribly impressed despite the unique controls. There are at least four or five Wii fishing games currently, and there’s another on the way. No date yet on a North American release, but here is the Japanese debut trailer.

The graphics aren’t the greatest, but it looks like this game will have both fresh and saltwater locations and species!

It will be released in North America under the name Reel Fishing Anglers Dream.
