Shark Fishing On The Fly

Just when you thought you’d seen everything you could do with a fly rod, someone just has to take it to the next level. I think the only thing left now is to catch a shark on the fly from your paddle board, or maybe a jet pack- I’m not sure which is more bad ass.

Surfer Captures Great White Sharks Following Him On Video

Straight out of the “OH SH*T” department, we have this video of surfer Chuck Patterson on a stand-up paddle board who notices a few extra fins in the water and decides to put his underwater camera down to see what’s going on down there. Turns out it was two great white sharks deciding if he’d make a good dinner, luckily though he made it out without any injuries! Personally, I’d crap my pants and I’m not ashamed to say it.

the day before I shot this video, i was SUP surfing with a couple friends and 2 sharks circled us for about 15 minutes. the next day, i decided to go back out at around the same time and take my GO PRO HD HERO camera mounted on a 10 ft pole and do some exploring.
Sure enough within 5 minutes a 9 ft shark came out of no where and circled twice and slapped his tail on my board before disappearing. then a minute later a 7 ft young juvenile Great White swam circles around me for 12 minutes. It was an unreal experience that I will cherish forever. chuckpattersonsports.com

Another great video on a Go Pro Hero HD, I really want one of these badly!

World’s 1st Stand-Up Paddle Striped Marlin Catch

That’s right, you thought the guy who caught a shark from a stand-up paddle board was crazy. Wait until after you watch this video, then tell me who’s crazier. Kudos to this guy and his chiropractor for a stand-up job!

On November 14th, Carl Schroderer and the crew of the fishing boat, Kelsey Lee, attempted and accomplished the first successful hook, fight and release of a Striped Marlin on a Stand-Up Paddleboard. The feat was completed off the coast of the infamous Magdalena Bay in Baja California Sur, Mexico. The Marlin was caught on live bait with 50 pound test line in just over 8 minutes.

We’re no stranger to Magdalena Bay, we’ve never seen any marlin but we have been whale watching.
