The Red Tuna Shirt Club is a novel idea that unites fisherman with some of the most sought after trophies you’ll find on a trip outside of actually catching fish that is. The fishing shirt is a badge of honor you wear when you return home from a trip to an exotic destination, made complete with the racoon tan of course.

Well now you can collect and wear some of these rare fishing shirts without paying thousands of dollars travelling, not to mention the cost of sunscreen. The Red Tuna Shirt Club sends its members one high quality fishing shirt every month from a different top-rated saltwater charters or guide from around the world. Memberships are about 20 dollars a month, with discounts on six month and yearly memberships. I don’t know about you but I went out shopping for clothes the other day and 20 dollars for a t-shirt, delivered to my door, is not a bad deal from what I’ve seen. We’re getting our hands on a few of their shirts to review so stay tuned!

Need a father’s day gift for the fishing obsessed father that has everything? You may have just found the answer.

Another purchase I made today at the Toronto Sportsmen’s Show, was at the booth of First Mate Lures. This family owned and run business that makes some quality plastic baits, and best of all they’re 100% biodegradable! To take that a step further they also forbid the use of lead in all their products, and sell environmentally friendly jig heads. Even the bag they gave me with my purchase was biodegradable.

Today at the Toronto Sportsmen’s Show I did some shopping and registered for a new fishing license. I found some pretty great deals all around, for example right now you can pick up a Quantum Cabo PT baitcaster for only 150 bucks! Unfortunately for me they’re all right handed. I highly recommend that you check out the show this weekend before all the best tax-free deals are gone. I did however spend some time culling the shops for the best swimbait deals. In the photo below you’ll find about 160 dollars or so worth of hot new swimbaits!

Last Minute Gift Ideas For Fishermen

I’ve never really understood why people love go out to shops. Don’t get me wrong, I love to spend, but the act of going to a mall to shop is about as fun as being kicked in the shin by a two year old. Call me lazy if you want, but if I could do all of my shopping online, I would. This time of year is of course the worst time to shop in stores. I don’t mind the crowds so much, but waiting in line, especially with my two year old son, is just brutal. Especially after he has just kicked me in the shin. So for all you people out there that feel my pain, do yourself a favor and buy some gifts online. Etsy is a great source for unique fishing and non-fishing gifts, and if you live in the US or Canada, you can probably find a seller that lives fairly close and can ship or deliver you some stuff before Christmas. Here are a couple of examples of the artwork you can find on Etsy.

The beauty of Etsy is that you can find thousands of hand made items, including, but not limited to lures, flies, carvings, paintings and more. My lovely wife even has a few items up for sale, including these cowls.
