Canada Wins Hockey Gold!

With help from local hero, Sidney Crosby, Canada pulled off an awesome win in overtime to win the gold medal in mens hockey! Although Canada has won more gold medals this year then ever before, there is no medal more important then hockey gold. Not only did the mens team win gold, but the womens team did too!

Pens Win The Cup!

The Pittsburgh Penguins pulled off a stunning win against the Detroit Red Wings last night and I gotta say I am pretty surprised! I was certain Detroit would win the cup again, but it looks like the young Penguins team taught the veterans a lesson tonight. It really didn’t matter to me who won, both teams have Canadians, but seeing as that I am now a Nova Scotian, its good to know the cup will be close to home. For those of you who don’t know what I’m talking about, I’m talking about NHL hockey. Canada’s top player, Sidney Crosby grew up just down the street from where I currently live, and while he isn’t my favorite player, you cant deny his incredible skill – not to mention the lad is only 21! Congrats Pens!

Two Dudes- Strapped In- For WAR!

First of all let me say that I am a huge combat sports and professional Mixed Martial Arts fan, and there’s nothing professional about this next video you’re going to see. If you don’t like macho things like arm wrestling and and boxing, you probably won’t like this video. However, I ask that you watch it anyway, without reading the description that comes after the break.

This can’t possibly be real… Right?

Talk about bragging rights. This surfer takes extreme sports to the next level when he goes fishing with a meat-laden fishing pole and snares himself a great white shark. He’s in for the ride of his life as the shark plows along to the delight of onlookers.

An Introduction to Fishing Japan – by Adam Guy

Japan, as an island nation, is surrounded by sea: to her east, the vast Pacific Ocean, the west, the Japan Sea and to the north, the Sea of Okhotsk. Correspondingly, Japan is blessed with a great variety of fish and marine life, large quantities of which end up on the nation’s dinner tables. Japan is also fortunate in that her islands span several climate zones. The southern Ryūkyū Islands, including Okinawa, are tropical, and are home to many varieties of reef-dwelling fish and invertebrates; the northern island of Hokkaidō, on the other hand, has a temperate climate similar to a northern European country and is famous for trout, salmon and cod fishing.
