New Personal Best Muskellunge
That's right! I've got a new personal best!
Fish was about 43" and 20 pounds!

My previous personal best, also my first musky ever, caught on the same lake 5 years ago.

You count personal best by weight instead of length?

Re: New Personal Best Muskellunge
Personal best is always got to be by weight surely, a smaller fatter fish always looks better than a skinny longer one...Just look at the difference in the 2 Musky's that 1st one that Jon caught looks skinny but the one just caught looks a lot more impressive...Just my opinion anyway, no one hang me for it!

Re: New Personal Best Muskellunge
I've always gone by length, but that because I never weigh my fish...

Re: New Personal Best Muskellunge
We only go for weight because Fish never get measured, (I've never seen a tape measure ever in Fishing) they just get put in the weigh sling, photographed and put back in.

Re: New Personal Best Muskellunge
I'd say personal best overall, the second musky is technically slightly longer, but by mass the first one is much larger!

Re: New Personal Best Muskellunge
While the true records are by weight (with length a tie breaker) I generally rate my catches of the main local gamefish (striped bass) in inches because it’s easier to measure. There is a 50” tape measure sticker on the rail of most of my friend’s boats which we use to see if whatever we’re catching is of legal size so it’s easy to quick put the fish up against it even if it’s going to be released. 48" is my best so far

Wow I haven't thought about Scarborough Bluffs since I took my wife there on our honeymoon. That was 30 years ago. She's from Campbellton New Brunswick and I had to show her my teenage stomping...
Scar. Bluffs this time of year?
