TV, phone, internet bundles
Hi,
I really want to get out from Rogers, my rates have sky-rocketed and I hate that my internet is throttled.
Does anyone here have any info/experiences with other choices? I also do not want Bell.
I am looking for TV, phone and internet.
Any info is appreciated, thanks!!

Re: TV, phone, internet bundles
Im not sure what your budget or plans are but I've been on rogers for a while and it's expensive but I've been pretty happy with my service. I also don't have a bundle if that matters just cellular and internet service (you need to have three to bundle and I don't need a home phone or tv)
I guess my question is about the throttled internet, what ports/services do you find are throttled/shaped? Also, for what it's worth I am consistently over the bandwidth limits for my service and have chosen to eat the extra 25 a month in charges.Yes, Ed F took my avatar photo.

my rates went from about $162/month to $190/month. rogers changed the 15% discount, so now u need 4 services (not 3) to qualify, otherwise u only get a 10% discount. I just think that's dishonest, and way too much to pay for phone, tv and internet.

Re: TV, phone, internet bundles
currently I've got TV + Internet, and our house phone is connected to the internet through a special modem.
From what I heard from my dad, the phone uses the internet's capacity and it is free to call anywhere (including international). I'm not too sure how it works, but a quick google search can probably find one like it.mmMMmmm... bet that fish tastes good!

Well you'll almost never get the full throughput of your connection for torrents, too much of the connection is spent communicating back and forth with the tracker and peers. If you want download speeds that will blow your mind you'll have to pay for a usenet account..

I had Rogers throttle my speeds, but that was only after passing 200gig DL in a month. Sadly, your options are limited.

Wow I haven't thought about Scarborough Bluffs since I took my wife there on our honeymoon. That was 30 years ago. She's from Campbellton New Brunswick and I had to show her my teenage stomping...
Scar. Bluffs this time of year?
