Salmon Fishing Toronto
I'm not an experienced Salmon fisherman but I'm looking for a few good runs in the Toronto area, preferably accessible via TTC. Anyone got any suggestions?

Re: Salmon Fishing Toronto
I'm not experienced at Salmon fishing either, but I just went up north during the holidays and people there were using spawn bags + sinker + float for steelheads in the calm pools beside the rushing water.
But from what I've heard, you can also use a large, rattling lure to make the aggressive spawning male salmons attack the lure due to aggression / defense.
For where to find salmon in Toronto, Humber Bay River (Old Mills Station) is okay. I've seen salmon jump up the dams and there are multiple dams if you want to keep walking north. Just remember that you can't fish 60m below the 1st dam (there's a sign there on the concrete).
mmMMmmm... bet that fish tastes good!

Re: Salmon Fishing Toronto
A couple of weeks ago there were salmon just in a bit from the mouth of the Humber river, but that's a pretty good walk from the subway station. Also a lot of people were fishing at the first bend down from the yacht club. I saw the only other guy fishing near the mouth catch one, and he said he had quite a few bites. At the bend down from the yacht club I didn't see anyone catch anything, but saw some fish heads and one guy said he had one on but lost it.
I didn't catch anything, so I guess I'm going again this weekend, I didn't get out the last couple of weekends because of the rain.
For the most part people were using silver and blue colored lures, but a few people were using worms or spawn off the bottom.
