All India Saltwater Angling competition 2nd Edition
Finaly afther 5 months in India without getting one single opportunity to go fishing there; I've been invited by few anglers to a surf catsing competition in Harihareshwar at two hundred killometers from Mumbay.
:victory:
This competition will regroup arround 30 guys from the West of India and ll be from the 13 to the 15 of November.
The guys from the forum are great and help me a lot for organisation. I've just booked my flight and I'm really exited.
Description of the fish you can catch make me dream: "The target fish are Barra, Snapper, GT, Ravas, Reef Shark, Sand Shark, Ray and god knows what"
Same for the fishing gears
Rod : Surf casting Rods
Reels : Open Spool or Bait caster
Weight : Grip lead or any other 3-5 oz. (A Nut will do fine)
Hooks : Size 3/0 to 8/0 never use this size of hooks for surf fishing
Leader : Mono, Floro and Wire.
Lures : Surface/ Subsurface lures, Softies and heavy spoons.
Baits : Makral, Sardine, Prawns etc.
Others : Rod holders and Ice Box (Small) for bait.
I don't have every thing there but I'm sure that it be a great opportunity to learn how things are working there
I'll let you know how my preparation is going on.
I plan to go the only sports shop who get fishing stuff but hear in Delhi that kind of complicated to find anything.
Hope that the few hooks that I've ordered today ll arrive in time.

Sounds like a lot of fun!!
Can you use more than one rod at a time? If so I’d suggest setting out one rod with a high-low rig using circle hooks with whatever the local bait is and then casting a plug while you wait.
One of the great things about fishing in warmer waters is that you never know what you’ll get. There are some many more species swimming out there.

Re: All India Saltwater Angling competition 2nd Edition
We are alowed to fish with two rod simultaneously. So that's exactly what I was planing to do.
I'll take my light surf casting rod, my heavy spinning rod wich would alow me to frow plug and bait of 8 oz and a light one to catch my bait.
I'm sure that it ll be really fun...
I'm so excited that i get trouble to sleep the last two nights and i still have to wait two weeks. I start to think that I'm a real fishing addict... :fool:
