dare to ice fish in toronto islands?
It's January and I'm starting to miss the feeling of hold a rod in my hands, and playing tug-of-war with fish. I was thinking of going to Lake Nippissing for some ice fishing during my winter holiday (since im done school for 2 weeks), but unfortunately ice season starts after Jan 1st (friday), and my school season starts Jan 4th, and that New Years weekend is packed with people.
Since I study at U of T, I'm practically two steps away from the Toronto Islands, I found this video, an Icy Toronto Island Ferry Ride.

Looking at the thickness (and whiteness) of the ice at the left side, it seems like its thick enough to stand (and therefore fish) on. In the somewhat-protected waters of the Hanlan's point bay, would you dare to fish there? Last time there it seems like its deep enough to hold weeds even in the coldest of winters.
Would you dare to go ice-fishing in Hanlan's point bay?
mmMMmmm... bet that fish tastes good!

Awesome video!
I've always wondered if anyone ice fishes there - no one brave enough I guess!

Probably not in the bay since the ferry is constantly breaking up the ice and creating waves, but perhaps on the inner channels you might be able to.. I'm honestly not sure..
Yes, Ed F took my avatar photo.

Since you mentioned Frenchmens Bay....

My brother took this picture 03/09/2010, that is someone else that was fishing there, that was the guys first fish he caught a second one even bigger a short time later, my brother didnt bother taking a picture because he had one on just as big if not bigger than the one pictured, between the two of them they caught 3 big pikes in 10mins and that was 2 weeks ago!
