    Toronto Islands 2010

    Hi,

Is anyone planning on trying them out in the next few days?? The weather looks good this weekend (5C).

Just wondering if it might be too early for pike there (if that is possible).

We can't fish there Apr.1 till the season opener, correct?

    Thanks!

Yea as far as I know the season is closed everywhere for the month of April. Toronto Islands generally open a week earlier than the inland, but always check the regulations.

I'll be at the Islands May 1st - 7th, not sure if I'm going to make the trek before March 31st. I may stick to mainland for the pre-spawn. May 8th, I'm back up to Severn/Muskoka for Pike on me boat.

I'll be going to the islands this wednesday afternoon...
Seeing as how it rained 4 days in a row, I doubt there'll be any ice left... It should be good with a bit of sun to warm up the waters.

I actually don't know if there'll be any fish out there, but that doesn't really matter it'll be good just to wet the line and have fun in the sun.
mmMMmmm... bet that fish tastes good!

I've never been this early, but I know some others who have had success. Slow suspending lures should do the trick Clown X-rap and #5 Black fury to cover water!

so Wednesday... ended up missing the 3:30 ferry and took the 4pm one and stayed until 8:15pm... too bad I didn't catch anything... there was only a touch of ice left under the main white bridge and in some of the smaller canals, but they'll be gone by tmr. I'm glad to be able to do 50ft casts again ^^

I've seen at least 6 other fishermen, and except for a few small pikes by pair of fishermen on a boat, nobody caught anything on land... I guess this warm weather had even the pikes fooled!

But at the end of the day, it was WONDERFUL to feel the warm sun in a t-shirt and watch a beautiful (and warm) sunset

mmMMmmm... bet that fish tastes good!
