June 23rd is the opener for zones 16 and 20. Anyone else planning on getting out on opening weekend?

There were bass still on beds last weekend...so I'm not going to bass fish until July when the males stop guarding the fry.

Anyone know where bass can be caught and target'd from shore in and around the Toronto Area?

Bass is everywhere along the Toronto lakeshore. Mostly SMB cruising in groups, but I have seen a lot of LMB in the islands. Some people always try the shallow trout pond for LMB. I've also found crayfish in the islands before, so i am guessing SMB can also be found there.
Also, is anyone going fishing during the coming long weekend, July 1st or 2nd? I'm thinking of taking a trip to the Kawarthas, either Emily PP, or maybe Ferris PP. I've had success at both places, although Emily is a lake while Ferris is at a river.

I'm heading up to Restoule PP for a week and the bass fishing was never disappointing. My dad got a 19 inch smallie and I hope to top that.

I'm going fishing...but my prime target is not bass...although where I'll be fishing bass outnumber my target despite what the media like the public to believe...
I would hate it if bass kept hitting my frog or chatterbait on that weekend. I wouldn't travel that far just to catch a bass.:lol:

What species are you going for this time, MB?

I am planning on fishing sunrise to sunset... *with a break for a pub lunch.:D
If you are out and about, keep an eye for me at Grenadier Pond, Ontario Place, Alexandra marina, harbour park west (boardwalk) and the Toronto Islands.
I will mostly be fishing the dragonfly lures and mini cranks, but I'm going to pack the interline and PVA bag rigs for some carping too.....

That will be revealed later. My chance at catching them is slim at best...so I don't want to get my hopes up (or anyone else's).
Hint: BCF and NSH are the acronyms. ;)
I also hope to do some saltwater fishing in the bay...all I'm hoping for is just nice stable weather so I have a chance at my targets.
I'll be bringing my fly rod and zazzy pops because I promised owljones I would catch some big canadian bass/musky on them. I'll probably bring a bucket for stripping into as well cause I dont need my brand new 80 dollar fly line getting ripped on the boat or something. Hopefully there isnt too much wind!

I have homemade ones made from cut down plastics. Let me try to find a pic of one of my new ones this year. I recently bought 50 from a guy on Ebay, I'm waiting for them to arrive.
Here ya go... a pic of "this years model" ...lol.

These ones float really well as they are stuffed with the poly float beads that you would usually put into a roe bag. I normally give them a quick spray of Garlic to take off any residual plastic / glue scent.
