I saw this on another site recently.....people posting pics of their tackle and setup and I thought maybe others may do the same.

I recently had my vehicle broke into and most of my fishing gear was inside but nothing touched. I immediately thought I better get pictures in case something ever happened for insurance. So I spent a bit of time and put it on the lawn. The other is my vehicle with my rod rack setup....very handy for those that travel a lot and fish.

Cheers,

Paul

Finally got some pics taken now that the season is done!

I use 4 main boxes, mostly opting to carry around smaller ones since most of my fishing is from shore. They are a total mess right now, but will be tidied up soon! I havent taken pics of all of my reels, fly fishing stuff, or lure making gear and my Rockstar Lures because its still in boxes from our recent move.

Boxes:

And finally a hand full of muskie lures I'll be using in the next couple of weeks. The orange one in the front is 7.5 inches long.

lol, Its not usually that bad. The big reason its a mess is because I've fished so many places this year for different species. I usually take everything out of a box and pack it for a specific set of species I'm after. This year everything just got tossed around. Not to mention I let a friend borrow some lures.

...they're the easiest to blame!

I try this with the sheds....honestly honey, it must have been someone else! :)

Thankfully, my g/f has given me my own room just for my gear. My fishing room is also guarded by these; my dog Lu and racoon Ignant!

nice room could you give us a pic of the shirt straight on so we can see all the sponsors?

I think so....I hope it's okay to add this but for fear of causing trouble with the admins and the current board sponsors, I won't add a link for the following comment.

This year, I became a pro rep for Tight Lines UV bass worms. I've gotta say; they're amazing and the flipping craw out fished my tourney partners flipping rig 4 to 1 during our testing. I am also partially sponsored by and thankful for; DC Marine (Kingston business that has treated me well over the years and kept my boat operational), RD Coopers Appraisals and not included on my shirt but City Optical in TO.

Here are some other pics I took this morning of my room with my BB so some aren't that great.

One of my pride and joy things is the life jacket....Denny Brauer wore this in the 1993 Bass Masters Classic.

Gotta love ebay!

This shirt is from Team Suzuki Marine...I was fortunate to have fished for them last year.

If you really think that's bad Clive, I'd hate to hear what you would say about mine
Right now everything is piled up and around my boat, heck I even have a bag that has all my cold weather gear/tackle laying under the boat and I put it there when I got back from LV at the end of May.
I'll have some serious sorting do do once the snow flies

Hey, the last photo you put up, is that a Spider in resin?...On my last trip to Australia i got a Gear knob for the top of the Gear stick, it had a Redback Spider in it...I never wanted to use it though in case my car got broke into or nicked and i never wanted to lose it, i ended up slicing through it so now it sits flat and looks like a paperweight!

Woody

Have i just made a twat of myself again?...I've just looked again and it might be a transfer of some sort!!!...It's just that mine was on a yellow base to make the Spider stand out and that looked the same kind of thing!

I was typing as you were posting as well, Woody.

Yes it is a real spider....my daughter picked it up for me in Mexico.

All of the "strange and weird" things go in this room....according to my g/f, I'm one of them! :sarcastic:

Paul

Very nice...

What do you think of those new baits in the packages with the liquid? (Trigger?)

I can't for the life of me remember the name....but I see you have them.

Yes, they're called Trigger-X and they're made by Rapala. Personally I really like them, I got a decent sample of them to try and I found them to work just as well as the gulp baits, and they store much better. I've had a few gulp packages go rancid on me because the ziploc seal was slightly open. Next year I want to do a more in depth comparison of the two.

I've looked at them but thought the packaging wasn't too great and was a concern.

This may be a stupid question but.....

What do you do with the bait once you remove it from the package? Can it be repackaged in the existing liquid?

I find the containers that the gulp come in frustrating too...I've had a complete pail dump out on my g/f purse in the boat, after hitting a wave and turing over. They don't seal very well.

I've heard of people using other containers, putting a piece of wrap inside etc. but I have an issue with paying an outrageous amount of money for a bait, that you have to "baby" or remove and repackage yourself. I'd have to think the $20 I'm paying, some of that is for packaging that IMO, is inadequate.

Geeze...sorry, I just realized I'm ranting!

....I'm having a tough day at work! ;)

Cheers

Here's my arsenal, first one is my spinning setup - Abu Garcia Cardinal GoldMax63 with a Berkley Roughneck 6'6" Med action spinning rod. This was my very first rod and reel that I purchased with my OWN money about 15years ago at the Toronto Sportsmen Show. I haven't cleaned, lubed or greased this reel its entire life, I have dragged it through dirt, sand, salt, snow and its even been to the bottom of my lake twice. I have abused this reel pretty bad in its life, thrown it around on the dock, ran over the rod with my car, slammed it against the boat(alot)! The trigger bail is loosey goosey, the auto close bail doesn't work anymore and it reminds me every time I forget to manually close the bail by busting my knuckles when I start the retrieve, which usually leads to some cursing and the eventual slamming of it against the boat hull. Surprisingly enough it still works great, the drag works just as well as it did the first day I used it, I guess it is true what they say about Abu products - TOUGH!

Next my baitcasting setup, Abu Garcia Ambassadeur 5500-C3 2-Speed(6.1:1/3.8:1) - very very rare, mounted on a Berkley FireFlex, 6'6" Med casting rod. This was my second rod and reel I purchased with my own money the following year again at the Toronto Sportsmen Show about 14 years ago. This one doesnt see too much action, usually only spring and fall for pike and musky up at the cottage or if Im pitching jig and pigs in the lily pads or trolling for Pickerel in the deep. This one gets babied, never abused, I've replaced the bearings with full ceramic ball bearings, carbon fiber drag discs and I lube and grease this one seasonally.

Hey Danny,

I have that exact same AG reel...I bought it so long ago, I don't quite remember and it's still working in great shape. I bought it from Cabellas catalogue and remember it was unique back then, offering 5 bearings; I think it's 5. :scratch_ones_head:

I think I still have the spare spool that came with it too.

Cheers,

Paul

Yup 5 ball bearings and I still have the plastic spare spool that it came with as well - some where....

Just to mention I love the 2-speed baitcast reel - its like having 2 reels in one, I can fish the bait slow and switch up the gearing when I hook a fish and pull him out of cover fast or use a fast retrieve with the lower gearing without cranking on the handle like a mad man and when I hook into a big fish I can switch to the taller gearing and finesse him into the boat.
Ironically doing a quick search on ebay revealed one that has just been listed with a low starting price.

Gotta love the old Abu Cardinals, my stepdad had one of the old green and white ones and it was an excellent reel.
