How do you guys rig your soft jerk baits for maximum effectiveness? weighted hooks? jigs? texas?

Almost always Texposed with no weight. Sometimes I'll rig them wacky but that's pretty much just SLUGOs.

okay, sweet thanks man. I used to have a ton of SLUGOs (hooray for locally made baits!), but now i can't find where i put those things

Texposed is the #1 way that I fish plastic jerk baits (sluggo, senko, sinking minnow), but after they get beaten up from catching a few fish ill rig them anyway i can to get my moneys worth. That includes forwards, backwards, wacky rigs, heck Ive even had one break in half and just rigged both of them on the same hook.

Sometimes if i need to get deeper ill add a weight to the hook

I think I'm gonna buy a few packs to try out, I really like the Houdini Shad by, I think YUM. So since Texposed seems to be the preferred manner I'll do that, and maybe buy a roll of heavy-ish copper wire, I've seen people wrap it around the bend of hooks for a cheap/easy belly weight.
