I've been on the hunt recently for a good travel rod at a reasonable price, but its surprisingly hard to find one that meets my needs. I'm looking for something with the power to cast muskie lures up to 5oz (140g), with 50-80lb line, and also be made for saltwater in the event that I make a trip south to the BVI for tarpon. So far the Okuma Nomad series seems the closest to my needs and the best deal at $170 (BassPro)

Anyone used these rods or have any recommendations for under $200 USD with shipping?

This is the one I was thinking of getting "Ocean Master Travel Rod". A little lighter than the one you're showing but still has a pretty good backbone (1-4oz and 15-25 lb mono). On sale for $119.94 at BPS.

the Ocean Master looks good, not sure if its as tough as I'd like - and im not familiar with the brand quality - but the price is right!

What you need is the Tiger Ugly Stik in Travel form!

I've tried to find that. I end up settling for a nice travel case. Theres always room for a fishing pole.

Especially if itís a two piece; you can get a pretty short travel case.
