View Full Version : Toronto Islands Sunday March 11th
I've gotten PMs from quite a few people that might be out on the islands tomorrow. I hope to see you guys out there just as much as I hope to see some pike out there!

Was a good day out there today.
Nice to meet you guys.
Will have to do it again when the weeds and fish start moving in.
I am open to fishing all over.

Yea, unfortunately skunked but scouted some good locations once the weeds and warm water move in.

The Pike are there, but today wasn't very good for Pike fishing. The high pressure and sunny conditions keeps them hiding and inactive. This past Thursday we had lower pressure and lots of clouds and I caught two Pike (24" and 27" long) plus hooked a third. I didn't set the hook well, so it spat it out before I could net it. It was just barely above zero on Thursday with about the same water temps as today. I couldn't get to the Islands to meet all of you unfortunately, so I went to Bluffers, knowing that it was very unlikely that I would catch anything on a day like today, but I guess just to somehow prove that to myself. It was a fab day to be outside anyway. The pic is of the smaller of the two caught on Thursday. Didn't get a pic of the bigger one. Took too long to get the self-timer thingie going. If you go to the Islands tomorrow evening between 5 and 7:30 pm I'm willing to bet that you'll catch Pike at the same spot you've caught them before.

It was awesome to meet some new people to fish at the Island, and you guys also got to chat with David who taught me how to target bowfin. Let's do it again sometime :)
I might be able to get out on the weekend of the 24th
heading out tomorrow! noticed that the ward's island ferry is the only one that runs this time of the yr ..i usually fish the more central/west side, so i guess it's a little hike before wetting the line, or do people fish the ward's island area?
thx.
