    BioLite Stove

    http://biolitestove.com/

Our Scouting group just bought one of these stoves. I'm really eager to give it a try. I'll post a full review once I get into it a few times.

Please let me know what you think. I've been considering buying one of these, but it's hard to spend the money when I have an MSR simmerlite that I absolutely love.

Quick review. (An in depth one to follow)

We got our BioLite Stove from customs yesterday. We tore it open and started to use it right away. (We were so excited we forgot to take pictures)

The materials seem good. The carry bag seems a little flimsy and cheap. I might consider finding a hard case for it. I has a nice low-profile wide folding tripod base. It was very stable on a flat surface. Assemble was a breeze as it only has the burner and charger. We put in some paper and some twigs and lit it up. The thermal-electric generator started running the fan, which got the flames going good. It took about 5 minutes of burning twigs before the LED changed to green which meant it was ready to charge our USB device. The stove threw off a lot of heat for the amount of fuel.

The stove charged our test ipod great and when we stopped the fire it cooled down in about 5 minutes.

It works as advertised and we are very happy. I am hoping to put it through it's paces in the next couple of weeks.
