Islands tomorrow (Sunday May 30)
Hey,
Can't help but think that the time to fish the islands for pike this year is fading fast. I'm hoping to get over there tomorrow between 10 and 11 for a few hours. If you're going to be around maybe we can cover some shoreline.

I'm sure its possible to get pike in there in the summer. I just always think of season open until the first week of June or so as the time when there are bigger ones in there before they head for cooler waters.
I did get out on Sunday but only for a few hours in the middle of the day. Outrageous wind and a cold front didn't help but I was too lazy to fish the primetimes (morning or dusk). Hopefully I can get out next weekend for an earlier morning and maybe we'll have a bit of stable weather heading into this weekend.

They are around in the summer, in deeper water - and you are right, the bigger girls are long gone when the serious heat rolls in.
Fishing TO islands in the summer doesn't appeal to me since the crowds get so big. I love the peace and quite of early season fishing in TO.
