Toronto Islands Sunday 28 oct
Sunday looks like the best option this weekend 30% chance of showers and 25km North Wind. I am thinking of hitting the tourist free islands for the day. If anyone else is heading out there, give me a shout. I will likely be trolley rig fishing at the pier, but if the wind forecast is correct I will also be doing some balloon float fishing.

Looks like 80% chance of rain all day on the updated report. I am still going for a few hours though...

Not much luck...
I didn't see any of the salmon I have been hitting over the last few weeks, so I'm wondering if the run is over on this stretch ( or paused?)
Here's a few pics of my "pier setup"
Chair-pak with rail clamped rod
Close up of the rail clamp
Balloon on its way, about halfway out at 200yds or so.
Once I swapped from strings of eggs to a ball of worms, I did manage one Carp hook up, but lost it trying to get it into the drop net... which happens TOO MUCH. I'm thinking of taking the balloon rig over to the lighthouse point at TTP on the weekend and fishing some deep water without the drop net, and just my normal net.
EDIT* Ken thinks this might be a good thing to revisit in the spring when the run is on.Last edited by MikeH; 10-29-2012 at 11:04 AM.

Thanks for the report! I've often wondered if you could catch some salmon runs from that pier.
Yes, Ed F took my avatar photo.

I am heading out again this weekend to try my luck again with the balloon float. I am going to give Tommy Thompson a shot. Lighthouse point or the outside of East Cove, depending on the wind direction.
