New rod and reel need some advice

Got my first spinning reel and already have a baitcaster but don't know if i should throw the same things on the spinning or are there specific things i should throw with it?

I dont think there's anything specific to look out for, other than the basics:

- Match the weight of whatever you are casting, to the rod and line that you are using.

- Use a swivel inline with lures that cause line twist.

- Set up the drag BEFORE you hook into a fish.

I cast pretty much everything with my spinning reels: plastics, drop shot rigs, bait, boilies, balloons......

I prefer spinning for jerkbaits, texas rigged plastics, spinnerbaits, dropshots, and still baits. But you can certainly use them on either setup, the main thing to be careful of is reeling in slack line on a baitcaster, this will cause backlashes later.
