Hello mate, that's one nice size Fish, what bait did you catch it on, dogfood is meant to work well for them?...I bet your freezer was full for ages!

Got him on 10lb test with a medium action rod, using a #4 single hook with two night crawlers about 10 minutes from home. Life is good :good:

I was under the impression these fish were protected and had to be catch and release??? Sure I read in nthe paper here that someone got prosocuted for taking a sturgeon? Or am I just getting it mixed up for when the fish was out of season?

It all depends where it was caught... and when. It may not have even been caught in Ontario...

But in Blind River, ON (zone 10) you cannot keep them.

After further research, looks like you are correct Ben, you can fish them, but cannot keep them anywhere in Ontario.
