This is just my perspective and particularly bass fishing

5 lures i would carry or rig up on my rods if i had no choice to change

    Rattle traps
Swimbait or jerk shad or even jerkbait
    Spinnerbait
    drop shot
    Tube jig

Hard to say for me. I fish the kawartha lakes here in Ontario and there's lures that have done amazing in one lake and sucked completely in others. I have some surface lures that are fabulous on lower Buckhorn lake, but on Sturgeon, I may as well toss a head of lettuce into the water.

    Ok..5 lures?

    1: small tube jig. 2"

2: small curly tail jig 2" 1/8 ounce or so.

3: reef runner cicada. a blade bait and great casted or jigged. Caught fish from Canada to Ireland. Fresh and salt water. Gold with chartreuse.

4: Panther Martin spinner. Gold blade, med. size.

    5: Rapala Husky Jerk. 4"

That's what comes out of the tackle box most often on my boat anyhow.
